Such a joint meeting between EVNNPT and EDC on the operation of interconnected transmission line is held annually, on the basic of rotational chair by each party. This is the 5th periodical joint-meeting aimed to review, assess the operation and management of transmission line and settle the outstanding issues occurred during the operation of interconnected transmission line as well as update the development of power network of the two countries – Vietnam and Cambodia.
Accordingly, over the first 9 months of 2014, total length of transmission line and numbers of substation as well as transmitted electrical energy increased considerably in compare with that of first 9 months in 2013. Many key 500kV transmission lines and substations have been energized and put into operation, which make increase of North-South transmission capacity, contributing to increase of power supply and improvement of power voltage for the South Western power grid. This brings in a transparent improvement of power voltage of 220kV Chau Doc substation leading to an increased power quality of 220kV Chau Doc – Ta Keo transmission line. Specifically in operation of the interconnected transmission line, there were no faults occurred during the first 9 months.
At the meeting, EVNNPT and EDC focused on discussing the key issues: ensure a reliable and stable operation of the system, avoiding any operation in network affecting power swing and voltage fluctuation; EVNNPT will organize technical training courses for EDC on different aspects of relay protection, SCADA, testing.

At the meeting, apart from the main reports by EVNNPT and EDC, representatives of PTC3 and PTC4 had presentations on experiences in management and operation of 220kV transmission line which had received high evaluation by EDC team, with many questions raised.
