Participation in the workshop, the Vietnamese side includes representatives of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Institute of Energy (IE), leaders and functional Departments of EVNNPT, subsidiaries of EVNNPT and external guests from: Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company No. 1 (PECC1), PECC2, PECC3, PECC4; Hoa Binh Hydropower Company, Uong Bi Thermal Power Company, Dong Anh Electricial Equipment Corporation (EEMC). The Russian partners include of 4 producers: IZOLYATOR, Svel, Uncomtech and Electro Apparat. Besides, the representatives of Russian Trade Representation in Vietnam, Russian Export Centre in Vietnam also participated in the workshop.

At the workshop, the technical experts of 4 producers took turns to exchange experiences and present their products, the advantages of products. Mr. Ivan Panfilov - Commercial Director of IZOLYATOR Company shared that there are thousands of transformer OIP bushings in Vietnam’s power system which operated for over 20 years. Therefore, these bushings need to be replaced because of the reduced quality of OIP bushings, which may cause a risk of exploded or broken transformers. With the current advanced technologies, IZOLYATOR has produced the RIP DO bushings, of which type test have been done at KEMA, CESI. The new products have been used and replaced in power systems of India, China, Belgium, United Kingdom, etc and used by many other transformer agents such as ToshiBa, ABB, SVEL, Siemens.

All 4 producers participated in workshop are the top ones in Russia, with products used in whole territory of Russia, SNG and exported to many countries in the world.
After presentations by the Russian experts, the participants raised many practical questions on management, operation and maintenance of equipment. The advantages of products raised by producers have been questioned, such as the question related to the type test of transformer: “whether the type test done by SVEL can meet criteria of STL?”. SVEL expert revealed that SVEL’s transformer test is done in KEMA’s lab and gained a golden medal because of following reasons: SVEL needs to bring only 1 transformer to KEMA’s lab for type test of 7 to 9 criteria, while the other transformers agents need to bring 7 to 9 different transformer for testing 7 to 9 different criteria.
Concluding the workshop, Mr. Tran Quoc Lam expressed thanks to the Russian experts for the informatic presentations on power products. He informed that EVNNPT needs to understand better the Russian products and their adaptability to the power transmission system of Vietnam. Representative of IZOLYATOR also expressed the willingness in cooperation with EVNNPT in order to find out the reasons for and risks of breaking the transformers in-operated in Vietnam, as well as find out the good solutions. It is expected that, in coming time, the Russian producers will cooperate more closely with EVNNPT in operation, maintenance of power transmission equipment, with a target on development and mutual benefits of both sides.
General information on 4 producers participated in workshop:
1. Izolyator company: To design, produce the high voltage bushings for AC and DC power, from 20 kV to 1150 kV. Izolyator is a the only company in Russia, who can design, produce and test the high voltage equipment. Izolyator was established in 1896. By now, Izolyator has finished 500,000 high voltage bushings, which are in operation in most of Russian energy plants, SNG as well as in 26 international countries.
2. SVEL corporation has 3 production bases in Russia. It designs and produces transformers of various types, current transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, etc. Besides, SVEL also provides the turnkey services in designing and constructing transformer.
3. Uncomtech company is one of the biggest cable producers in Russia. It produces the 500kV cable, with XLPE insulation, conductors of various types AAAC, ACSR and various types of cables. Besides, Uncomtech also produces low voltage and medium voltage cable.
4. Electro Apparat company is the biggest producer in North Western Russia. It provides the high voltage equipment up to 500kV for the hydropower, thermal power plants, metallurgy and oil filter companies. Electro Apparat is the Russian’s first unit producing the high voltage equipment using SF6. The products of Electro Apparat have sufficient certificates and licenses, meeting the international and Russian requirements and they are used in the subsidiaries of FGC UES.
