In initial phase, the flycam application focused on crossing towers and river-cross sections, which have high tall and long cross distance. In case of normal method, the patrol takes long time including power cut-off (cut-off for both circuits in case of of double circuit 500kV transmission lines due to the high intensity); transmission line workers must have health examination, be provided with complex supporting equipment… Besides, in coming time, PTC1 will apply flycam in checking towers in high mountains that conditions for climbing to tower for patrol are not yet met after flood rains.
In September 25th, Technical Division combined with Information Technologies division of PTC1 carried out check in location No. 349, which is a crossing tower of 90.7m height, hanging 2 circuits of 500kV Pho Noi – Thuong Tin transmission line. This checking belongs to the patrol enhancement program to ensure a secure operation of the 500kV Pho Noi – Thuong Tin transmission line for serving the implementation, connecting and energizing the 2nd circuit 500kV Quang Ninh – Hiep Hoa transmission line, which is one of EVNNPT’s typical projects in October 2016.
After flycam checking all data, Mr. Tran Tien Dao from Technical Division of PTC1 revealed that all insulators, fittings, arrestors, conductors, contactors were in image record which provide data for technicians to assess the operation of such equipment in the hotline condition and they will bear high load in power cut-off for implementation in coming time".
The checking/patrol shown that the application of flycam/UAV for transmission line operation and management is very important, which is deployed efficiently not only in mountainous areas, but also in terrains, especially in checking the crossing towers, right of ways, crossing sections in order to increase the management quality./.
