Among the attendees of the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuc – Deputy Director of Da Nang’s Industry and Trade Department; Mr. Pham Sy Hung – Vice President of Central Power Corporation; Mr. Ngo Tan Cu – Chairman and Manager of Da Nang Power Sole Member Limited Liability Company and Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung – Vice President of PTC2. In addition, directors of specialized departments from PTC2 and Da Nang Power Transmission Company, members of the Repair– Experiment Team and representatives of all parties involved in the implementation of the project were also present at the ceremony.

The current growth rate of Da Nang’s commercial electricity volume  has always exceeded that of the general economy. Specifically, Da Nang’s peak demand was 237 MW in 2010, 500 MW in 2015 and is now expected to reach 892 MW in 2020.

Facing a growing peak demand, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) invested 44,105 billion VND  in the “ Capacity upgrade for 220kV Hoa Khanh & Ngu Hanh Son substations” project to provide a more reliable and sufficient  power supply for the political, economic, social and cultural activities in the whole region, especially in Da Nang. The project would also ensure uninterupted power supply during the “2017 APEC High-Level Week” – a part of “Asia-Pacific Economic Coorporation – APEC 2017”.

The project will be designed by Power Engineering Consulting Limited Liability Company 5, under the supervision and consultation of EVN International Joint Stock Company. Upon completion of the project, Da Nang Power Transmission Company will take over and continue to manage the operation of the substations.

The main goal of the project was to replace the current 110kV-25MVA transmitter with a 110kV-63MVA transmitter, and to replace other related equipments at both Hoa Khanh and Ngu Hanh Son 220kV substations.

The project’s expected completion date will be before 30 December 2016.

In his speech during the Launching Ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Thang – head of the Repair-Experiment Team from PTC2 said: “ Given the responsibilities assigned by our Company, we will actively deal with all challenges, and coorperate closely with the investors and partner units to ensure accurate construction based on the project’s technical design, to guarantee high-quality works and to maintain excellent safety standards for both workers and equipments. This will allow for safe operation of the project to provide secured and uninterrupted power for the loads in Da Nang and in the nearby region, as well as improving the transmission capacity on the 500kV Northern – Southern network, for the sake of our country’s economic and social development.”

Pushing for the project to be launched and completed before 30 December 2016 is a practical way for Vietnam Electricity to express grattitude towards our customers during the month of “Customer Appriciation” – December 2016./.
