POWER TRANSMISSION COMPANY 2 (PTC2): START THE INSTALLATION OF TRANSFORMER AT THE 500 KV THANH MY SUBSTATION

On May 08th 2013, at the 500 kV Thanh My substation, Power Transmission Company 2 (PTC2) started the project on installation of a 500 kV transformer. Mr. Lang Mai - Deputy Secretary of District Party Committee, Chairman of People’s Committee of Nam Giang district, Quang Nam province; Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Deputy Director, Chairman of PTC2 Labour Union together with representatives of investors and other local authorities attended the ceremony and launched the inauguration.
Mr Nguyen Tien Dung- Deputy director, Chairman of PTC2 Labour Union delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony.
The project aims to transfer full power capacity of hydropower plants of DakMi 4, Song Bung 2, Song 4, Xekaman 3 as well as ensure the national energy security. This project is invested by the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPPMB), except Package 7 "Construction of foundations, installation and calibration experiments of transformer No. 1 - 500 kV Thanh My substation" is assigned to Power Transmission company 2 (PTC2) for implementation. To complete the process before schedule, PTC2 assigned Quang Nam - Da Nang Power Transmission branch and Repairing & testing team to directly undertake this important project.

According to Mr Le Dinh Chien – Director of Quang Nam- Da Nang Power Transmission branch - PTC2: Based on the assigned tasks, we will be active to overcome all difficulties and coordinate closely with investors and construction units to ensure proper construction engineering, construction quality and absolute safety for people and equipment, to put the transformer No. 1 of the 500 kV Thanh My substation into a safe operation, contributing to safe and continuous power supply for loads in the Central Highlands areas as well as improving transmission capacity on the 500 kV North – South system in pursuit of the socio-economic development of the country.
