The increased efficiency of fund use has been given with special attention by EVNNPT. Accordingly, EVNNPT will pay 100% of the outstanding and poor-quality materials and reduce at least 10% of the inventory value.

​Participation in the conference includes Mr. Dinh Quang Tri – Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vice Chairman of Steering Committee on EVN’s costs optimization, Mr. Nguyen Duy Binh – Assistant to Chairman of EVN’s Management Board. For EVNNPT, there were Mr. Dang Phan Tuong – Chairman of Management Board, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung – President and CEO and other leaders, Directors of functional Departments as well as leaders and heads of various Divisions of its subsidiaries.
At the conference, Directors and Vice Directors of 7 subsidiaries have made presentations on costs optimization plan and an ebullient discussion. Because of the actual operation and specification of each subsidiary, so the different criteria solutions have been defined, focusing on optimizing costs. The 5 criteria set include: to reduce expenditure in business and operation, to increase the efficiency of fund use; to have a secure, stable and reliable operation of power system; To increase the efficiency of labour use and optimize the cost in construction investment.
For the task of reducing the cost of production and business, EVNNPT achieved a transmission losses of 2.2% in 2014, reduced 5% auxiliary power source in compare with that of 2013, save 2% of the material costs, extra-services and other cash expenses. For the overhaul expense, EVNNPT saved 5% of the estimated value of the single-source selection packages.

In particular, the secure, stable and reliable operation of power system was identified as first important task, with a 100% implementation of overhaul plan, incident rate was lower than the rate assigned by EVN. EVNNPT sets a target that 100% of substations are SCADA-based substation in 2014
For increase of effectiveness of labour use, in 2014, EVNNPT will recruit the production staff in the 500kV – 220kV substations or replace the critical positions like retire, move to other agency or leave employment; scrutinize the existing labourers, re-arrange of positions, stop recruiting the new indirect labourers. Plan on recruitment of labourers must be approved by EVN’s Management Board.
For the norm in construction investment, EVNNPT strives for a saving of 5% costs compared with the approved total investment and estimate.
Making address at the Conference, Mr. Dang Phan Tuong – Chairman of EVNNPT’s Management Board emphasized: In order to reach such criteria, EVNNPT will strengthen the operational management, carry out solutions for minimizing failures, reducing loss of transmission grid, strengthen the technical management, regular inspection and repair, periodical maintenance; to combine with National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC) to set a suitable operational plan in order to distribute load reasonably, avoid overload and underload, ensure voltage power quality, reduce loss and failures. In addition, EVNNPT will scrutinize, re-evaluate capacity of the existing labourers; make plan on training and development in order to increase capacity of existing labourers; renovate organization and management of the subsidiaries, facilitate for the labourers during their working, improve working environment, working and resting regime for increased working capacity.
Especially, EVNNPT will guide the subsidiaries to save the auxiliary power source expense, while ensuring the technical criteria and secure operation; check the auxiliaries power flate rates to have a timely adjustment in an economical manner.
To increase revenue, save costs, EVNNPT strives to reduce power loss, increase the transmission power capacity; complete the formulation of transmission expenditure norm in a transparent, clear manner, with the accurate and sufficient calculation, which are the bases for adjustment of transmission tariff as oriented by the Government; strengthen the money flow control to ensure the its production and business activities, optimize its investment, etc…
The Conference was held only in 1 day, but with the new way of organizing discussion, taking full advantages of working time, reducing lunch-time and lengthening conference time until 19h00, the Conference has completed well the set plan, bringing in the essential effectiveness in finding out solutions on cost optimization.
Despite the Conference held in a long daily time, under the creative instruction and guidance by Dr. Nguyen Duy Binh – Assistant of Chairman of EVN’s Management Board, the participants were not tired, but very excited and impressed. Some groups have been divided to discuss different activities, so that all participants have chance to express their opinions, points of view, solutions by writing on paper for general compilation…. Especially, the organization of out-door activity has created a comfortableness, happiness in coordinating a team work, the compliance and discipline in working.
After the Conference, the concrete criteria will be issued by EVNNPT for implementation in EVNNPT and its subsidiaries.
