The 500kV-900MVA transformer at 500
kV My Tho substation
Putting the 500kV My Tho substation
and connected transmission lines into operation is to receive and evacuate most
of capacity of Tra Vinh Power Plant into the national power system through the
500kV Thermal Duyen Hai – My Tho transmission line synchronized with the
project; supply power t Tien Giang province and surrounding ares; increase the
stability and reliability for power system in Southern area.
The 500 kV My Tho substation and
connection project has a total cost of over VND 1,400 billion (which come from
JICA fund and EVNNPT’s equity)
invested by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), SPMB is on behalf of EVNNPT

responsible for project construction, Power Transmission Company No. 4 (PTC4)
is in charge of management and operation after project completion.
The project scope is to construct a
500/220kV substation, of an installed capacity of 2x900 MVA = 1.800 MVA (1
transformer will be installed in this period); construct 1,552m and 2,540m
connected transmission lines at 500kV and 220kV.
The project is constructed at Diem
Hy commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province.
