
Successfully energizing the K504
circuit breaker at 500 kV Vung Ang substation
The energizing K504 circuit breaker
at 500 kV Vung Ang substation contributed to increase of flexibility in voltage
adjustment in the power system in general and 500kV power grid in particular,
reduce power transmission loss, increase power transmission capacity in the
500kV transmission line routes.
It is one of eleven 500kV circuit
breakers of project “Equiping circuit breakers for shunt reactors in 500kV
power grid” which is allocated by EVNNPT to Power Transmission Company No. 3
(PTC3). Accordingly, from July 24th 2016 to August 1st 2016, PTC3 carried out
installation of one 500kV circuit breaker and adjustment of protection control
system, computerized control system, SCADA for the KH504 reactor of the 500kV
Vung Ang – Da Nang transmission line.

Installation
of K504 circuit breaker
3 days before power cut-off for
project installation, over 30 staff together with mechanical tools, equipment
of Mechanical Power Factory, Power Testing Division, Transportation Vehicle
Division under PTC3 have been moved a distance of over 950km from Nha Trang
city to the 500 kV Vung Ang in Ky Anh, South of Ha Tinh province to be ready
for the installation of reactor circuit breaker.
Despite of difficult weather
conditions of hottest time in North Central area, but with high efforts and
responsibilities by implementing uits, together with support by National Load
Dispatch Centre (NLDC), Power Transmission Company No. 1 (PTC1), Ha Tinh Power
Transmission, 500kV Vung Ang substation and the equipment supply contractors,
the implementing units has completed the project as scheduled./.
Project scope:
“Equiping
circuit breaker for shunt reactor in 500kV power grid” project includes of 2
phases:

Phase 1: Install 12 circuit breakers (CB) for shunt reactor at the 500 kV
substations (in which 11 circuit breakers installed by PTC3). At present, PTC3 has
completed installation of 10 circuit breakers at the 500 kV substations: Nho
Quan (02), Dak Nong (01), Di Linh (01), Pleiku (03), Thanh My (01), Ha Tinh
(01), Vung Ang (01).

Phase 2: Install 10 CB for shunt reactor at the 500 kV substations, in which 9
CB to be installed by PTC3 at 500kV substations: Hoa Binh (01), Son La (04), Quang
Ninh (02), Vinh Tan (02).
