The 500 kV Pleiku - My Phuoc - Cau Bong transmission line was built with the goal of providing power for load growth demand of the Southern region for the period 2014 to 2015. It creates premise for power import from Laos to Vietnam and grid connection of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia after 2015 period. It also strengthens the interconnection the power transmission grid at 500 kV, which will contribute to ensuring security, economic operation of the power system under the circumstances requires the power exchange at high-level among regions in the country.
