The project was started in April 2013. It includes following items: replacement of series capacitor banks at the 500kV Pleiku substation, new installation of the 2000A capacitors at 500kV Dak Nong substation. During the project implementation, many difficulties were found because the staff of Dak Nong Transmission Branch were focusing on the periodical examination and regular repair for the transmission lines. At present, the transmission lines are in overload operation. Especially, in Western Highland, the rainy season started, with severe climate conditions, rainstorms occur frequently. Under the direction by Company’s leaders, the reasonable implementation methods, the enthusiasm and solidarity by PTC3’s staff who are from Technical Division, Electric Engineering Group, Drivers Group, Dak Nong Transmission Branch, etc, a rather large amount of work has been completed up to now, including foundation digging, foundation buttress concrete, installation of 3 floor-boards of 2000A series capacitor bank. The project will ensure the progress to be put into operation on June 7th 2013 as scheduled.

The project is of high importance, aiming at evacuating power from generation plants in Western Highland and strengthening the power supply to the South, as well as increasing the stability, reliability in power supply, improving the power voltage along transmission line and distributing capacity in 2 parallel transmission lines in accordance with the master plan on power grid development in subsequent years.
