Over 5 years of EVNNPT’s establishment, organization of early celebration of lunar New Years in Power Transmission Companies and in the site for workers has become an annual activity of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). This is to create a happy, warm atmosphere of Tet days to encourage the transmission workers who have to celebrate lunar New Year in the substation and transmission line route and in the site in order to ensure a secure and reliable operation of transmission grid.

According to Mr. Dang Phan Tuong – EVNNPT’s Chairman of Management Board, the annual organization of early celebration of Tet festival has become a culture of EVNNPT, which is expected by staff and workers in the nation-wide power transmission units. Due to financial sources of EVNNPT, the gifts were not big but contained good sentiment extended to the labourers by leaders of EVNNPT and its subsidiaries.
In the last years, EVNNPT selected a specific transmission unit to organize an early celebration of Tet festival for the managers and operators of transmission grid as a movement, so that each transmission unit at local level applies the same model for its workers.
For example, organizing an early celebration of Tet festival in 2012, EVNNPT selected North-Western Transmission Branch. At that time, it was in the middle of urgent implementation of the 500kV Son La – Hoa Binh- Nho Quan and 500kV Son La – Hiep Hoa transmission line projects. These are the two routes of transmission line transferring power from Son La Hydropower Plant into national power grid, which are invested by EVNNPT, Power Transmission Company No. 1 was assigned to be responsible for monitoring consultancy.
Identifying the important political tasks in supplying power to Western Highlands which is centre for receiving and transferring power capacity of whole country, EVNNPT organized an early celebration of Quy Ty Lunar New Year for the workers of Highland Transmission Branch which manages the transmission line and substation system at 220kV and 500kV voltage level of 2 provinces of Binh Thuan and Lam Dong where the transmission lines were always in full-load and over-load operation.
Participating in making traditional square cakes, drinking rod-wine, dancing and singing next to red fire, EVNNPT’s Chairman of Management Board conveyed the deep-hearted congratulation of lunar New Year festival to each staff, worker and family. He did not forget expressing his thanks to the local authorities and ethnic minorities people where the transmission lines run through and transmission workers were supported to carry out project implementation, etc…
Chairman Dang Phan Tuong shared that in 2014 Lunar New Year, an early celebration of Tet festival will be organized in the site of the 500kV Pleiku- My Phuoc – Cau Bong transmission line project to encourage the staff, workers implementing and monitoring project implementation in the site. This project is scheduled to be completed by April 2014 to ensure power supply to the South. Not only for the transmission workers, EVNNPT actually greatly admired the whole-hearted responsibilities and efforts by the workers of contractors implementing project during Tet days, committing to combine with EVNNPT to complete project as scheduled. For Chairman Dang Phan Tuong, the simple non-soup lunches, the quick siesta in the top of tower at tens of metters above ground by workers were an excellent great that nothing can exchange.
Early celebration of Tet festival in the site of 500kV Pleiku- My Phuoc – Cau Bong (circuit 3) was same, with traditional square cakes, rod-wine and red fire, the difference is the dance and integration singing of Nothern – Central – Southern voices. There were no gap between investor and contractor, between bosses and workers, but there were only partners and cooperation, with hand shakes expressing an unification during the days at site, under a tight progress and pressure of work quality. The ultimate target of project is that over 437 km of transmission line and substations system to be completed by April 2014 to ensure power supply to the South in 2014 dry season.

EVNNPT’s Chairman of Management Board Dang Phan Tuong and leaders participated in an early celebration
of Tet festival, together with construction workwers who will work continuously during Giap Ngo Lunar New year.

The early celebration of Tet festival means that many workers will have to spend time and work in the site during Tet days. Being moved by the enthusiasm and readiness of carrying out tasks with big laughts, Chairman Dang Phan Tuong remembered and recognized the silent scarify by all staff and workers who spend most of his time for transmission line forgetting his future ahead. Chairman Tuong emotionally reminded Engineer Le Ngoc Liem – Head of Technical Division of Southern Power Projects Management Board (SPMB) who ever had days of no foods and insufficient sleep working in the site in order to ensure the completion of 500kV Phu My – Song May and 500kV Song May – Tan Dinh transmission line projects in service of implementation of the 500kV Pleiku – My Phuoc- Cau Bong transmission line project.
One more early celebration of Tet festival in the site, under the deep-hearted expression of ideas by EVNNPT’s Chairman Dang Phan Tuong in regards of the tasks done by each transmission worker, with deeply great sympathy for labourers, I can surely understand parts of sentiment behind the less-smiled face of EVNNPT’s Chairman.
