Mr. Grazi said he is very happy
in the new position, work in AfD Vietnam, have chance to cooperate with EVNNPT. He assesses that Vietnam is one of
the big partners of AfD Vietnam and hopes that the existing relationship will
be further strengthened.
As
a former Vice Director of AfD Vietnam, who has directed and participated in all
EVNNPT projects funded by AfD since the establishment, Mr. PIRES expressed
thanks for close cooperation by EVNNPT leaders and staff. He expressed
happiness and proud in participating and contributing to the success of
projects funded by AfD, especially the 500 kV Pleiku - My Phuoc - Cau Bong
transmission line project funded by AFD and ADB in Tranche 2 – Multi- Financing
Facility (MFF). He emphasized that this project is typical for AfD, both in
duration of project implementation (30 months) and in disbursement (within 1
year), whereas in the other project, the implementation progress is normally
from 5 – 6 years. With the gained achievements, together with the efforts and
close cooperation by 2 sides, he hopes and believes that the technical
assistance project of EUR 500,000 funded
by AfD as well as the use of remaining fund of about USD 35 million from the 500kV
Pleiku – My Phuoc – Cau Bong transmission line project will be implemented as
scheduled. He was pleased saying goodbye to AfD colleagues and EVNNPT leaders
and staff.
On
behalf of EVNNPT, Vice President Vu Tran Nguyen expressed the sincere
thanks for the valuable support extended by Mr. PIRES himself as well as AfD
over the past time, especially the support by AfD in the achievement gained in
the 500kV Pleiku- My Phuoc – Cau Bong transmission line project. Vice President
Vu Tran Nguyen highly appreciated the Technical Assistance (TA) project funded
by AFD. He emphasized that this TA project is meaningful for EVNNPT.
The
meeting finished in a warmly atmosphere. Both sides committed to make highest
efforts in deploying the TA project as scheduled and using effectively the
remaining fund of USD 35 million, contributing to the capacity building for
EVNNPT and the development of
transmission system of Vietnam./.
