ENERGIZE PROJECT “UPGRADE OF SERIES CAPACITOR FOR 500KV DA NANG – HA TINH TRANSMISSION LINE (T/L)”

At 17h25 on September 4th 2013, at 500kV Ha Tinh substation, Power Transmission Company No. 2 (PTC2) under National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) successfully energized a 2000A series capacitor which belongs to project “Upgrade of series capacitor for 500kV Dang Nang- Ha Tinh T/L”.
The project “Upgrade of series capacitor for 500kV Dang Nang- Ha Tinh T/L” has a total investment cost of over VND 397 bilolion, with the work items of: replacement of 04 1000A series capacitor banks by 04 2000A ones, in which 01 bank installed at 500kV Ha Tinh substation (S/S), 01 bank installed at 500kV Vung Ang switchgear, 02 banks installed at 500kV Da Nang S/S. The project is invested by EVNNPT, project management is assigned to PTC2, installation of equipment is carried out by PTC1 and equipment are provided by GE.
The project “Upgrade of series capacitor for 500kV Dang Nang- Ha Tinh T/L” aims to increase the transmission capacity of the 500kV North-South T/L, meeting the load demand and increasing the economic operation of power sources.
