The mission worked with Son La PPC
On October 9th 2013, the mission worked at Son La province – one of 3 provinces where the 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L runs through. At the meeting, Mr. Bui Duc Hai – Vice Chairman of Son La PPC identified the responsibilities of locality in combining with investor to deploy well the compensation, site clearance in order to ensure progress of the project which is of national importance. Besides, he guided 02 districts of Muong La, Thuan Chau where the 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L runs through to organize publicize each affected households, combine closely with the relevant agencies to establish a district-level Council on compensation and site clearance. The Council is chaired by a Vice Chairman of District People’s Committee, with the main tasks on deployment of compensation and site clearance in the project. Mr. Hai also give attention to the relocation of affected households, livelihood for the affected households as well as environment issues during the project implementation.
The 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L and extension of 500kV Son La S/S project aims at connecting Lai Chau Hydropower Plant with the national power system; connecting the small-scale hydropower plants in North-Western areas with the national power system; ensuring the power supply of the North-Western hydropower plants to the Northern load centres; create basic conditions for a flexible, optimal operation of power system of Northern area and whole country.
The 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L has a total length of 158.5 km run through the districts of Muong La, Thuan Chau of Son La province, Tuan Giao, Muong Cha, Muong Lay districts of Dien Bien province and Nam Nhun district of Lai Chau province.
In which, the T/L section runs through Son La province has a length of 61.076km, starting from 50kV Son La S/S to G27 location in Muong La and Thuan Chau districts. The acquisition land area for tower foundation is 83,640 m2, the area located in the Right-of-Way (ROW) is 1,944,449.4 m2.
The T/L section run through Son La province has a complicated topography, it runs mainly through high, slope mountain edge, its topography is divided by deep streams, narrow valleys, bushy trees mixed with crop land.
Total investment cost of project: VND 4,070,202,655,000 mobilized from commercial banks and EVNNPT’s equity.
Progress of project: As planned, the project will be commenced in December 2013, completed by end of 2015 (in synchronization with power generation of Lai Chau Hydropower Plant).
The project is invested by EVNNPT. Northern Power Projects Management Board (NPMB) is assigned by EVNNPT to manage the project. After completion, the project will be transferred to PTC1 for management and operation.
