EVNNPT’s President and CEO has a meeting with GE Energy Company in United States

GE Energy company, on June 6th 2016, EVNNPT’s
President and CEO Vu Ngoc Minh had a meeting and visited the factory of GE
Energy company at Tampa city, Florida state, America. EVNNPT’s participation includes leaders of subsidiaries such as Power
Transmission Company No. 1, 3, 4 and Departments of: Investment, Procurement
Department. GE Energy Company includes of Mr. John W.Westcott – Senior expert
on project management, Mr. Alan J.Swade – Production Manager, Mr. Hamid
Naboulsi – Expert on transmission grid solutions.
GE Energy company has supplied the
series capacitors for various EVNNPT’s
projects on upgrading series capaciors to 2000 A for the circuit 1& 2 500kV
North-South transmission line and the 500kV Pleiku 2 substation. At the factory
of GE Energy Company also produces equipments for increasing power quality
related to the use of capacitor equipment. All the factory’s products can be
made in accordance with orders and special requests by customers. Apart from
equipment production, the company has the qualified and skilled experts to
carry out all the relevant services such as installation, maintenance and
repair,.... All the products are tested with international certificates before
exportation.
At the meeting, President and CEO Vu
Ngoc Minh raised many technical questions to have a better understanding on
products, production techniques, the applied technologies and application of
protection control system. He also highly appreciated the cooperation and high
responsibilities by GE so far, even in the fact of factory movement, it still
meets the progress of putting into operation of series capacitors in the 500kV
Pleiku 2 substation, which has increased capacity of power transmission grid in
order to meet the power demands in the South. Disccussed at the meeting,
President and COE Vu Ngoc Minh has raised the current EVNNPT’s difficulties in operation of transmission grid that is always
in full load operation from the North to the South. He also requires GE Energy
company to organized workshop, make presentation on new products and tenologies
such as SVC, FACTS, capacitor control automation system, etc so that EVNNPT and power utilities in Vietnam in
general consider to apply the products to increase the power quality supplied
to customer.

cooperation of two sides will be strengthened and further developed in future./.
