EVNNPT’s Chairman of Management Board worked with Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of Dien Bien province regarding the section of 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L run through province.
At the meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Lam – EVNNPT’s Vice President reported the preparation of project and that time of project commence will be in December 2013. The two sides have discussed issues related to preparation of implementation of section of the 500kV Son La – Lai Chau transmission line (T/L) run through Dien Bien province, in which special attention is given to the compensation, site clearance, resettlement of affected people, the progress of project, livelihood for affected households and environment during the project implementation.

the 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L has a total length of 158.5km, in which the section of line run through Dien Bien province has a length of 75.266km, with 145 tower locations, including 99 locations of suspension towers and 46 location of tension towers, run through districts of Tuan Giao, Muong Cha and Muong Lay.
The total area of Right-of-Way (ROW) of the 500kV Son La – Lai Chau transmission line in Dien Bien province is 2,408,515.2 m2. Total area of tower foundation of the transmission line is 1006856421m2
In Dien Bien province, 43 households lived and cultivated under ROW of the 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L have to relocate to resettlement area.
The mission met and worked with leaders of Muong Lay town regarding the ground for construction of T/L operation centre
The 500kV Son La – Lai Chau T/L route runs through Dien Bien province, in a complicated topography, over the high rocky mountain tops of big slope, high edge of mountains, with many deep valleys at top of Pha Din pass. It runs through a pipe hill, rubber plantation forest, a bushy regenerated forest area and some rice and crop plantation areas, cross-cuts Black river (Son La hydropower reservoir).
