11pm on December 19th, 2016 at 220kV
Lao Cai substation (located in Tan Tien Hamlet, Gia Phu Village, Bao Thang
District, Lao Cai province), the Northern Vietnam Projects Management Board
(NPMB) cooperated with relevant units to accept and energize the second
220kV-250MVA transformer, raising the capacity of 220kV Lao Cai substation from
1x250MVA to 2x250MVA.

AT1
220/110/22kV – 250 MVA Transformer
This is a Level-1, Group-C project with a total
investment of nearly 79 billion dongs from National Power Transmission
Corporation (EVNNPT). The project is managed by NPMB as a representative of
EVNNPT, designed by Power Engineering & Consulting Company 1 (PECC1),
executed by Power Construction 1- My Dinh Limited Liability Company, and will
be taken over for further operation by Power Transmission Company 1 after it
has been completeted.
The project also involves installing a 3-phase,
220/110/22kV – 250MVA second transformer
at 220kV Lao Cai substation, installing new 220kV feeder(s) and 110kV and 22kV
incoming feeders for the new transformer; íntalling a 22/0,4kV auxilliary transforme; adding the
controlling component and protection relay for the new transformer and
equipment bays; utilizing the existing fire alarm system; adding a misting
system for the new transformer.
The energization of the second 220kV – 250 MVA
transformer at 220kV Lao Cai substation will helps strengthening the regional
power supply, transmitting part of the regional hydroelectric power to the
National power system, improving the efficiency of Vietnam Electricity’s
production and business.
This is a practical achivement by NPMB and
EVNNPT’s staffs to celebrate EVN’s Customer Appreciation month – December 2016,
and the 62nd anniversary of the Vietnam Power Sector’s Traditional
Day (21/2/1954 – 21/12/2016)./.
