Energizing the project on upgrading capacity of 220kV Tra Noc substation

At 01h00, on 1st August 2017, at the 220 kV Tra
Noc substation (in Tra Noc ward, Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city), Power
Transmission Company No. 4 combined with relevant units organized the
commissioning and putting into operation the T1 220kV-250MVA transformer,
completing project “Upgrading capacity of the 220kV Tra Noc substation”.

The project has total cost of over VND 76
billion invested by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), Power
Transmission Company No. 4 (PTC4) is on behalf of EVNNPT to manage the project,
Power Engineering Consulting Company 5 (PECC5) is responsible for project
design, the Technical Services Centre 4 is in charge of project installation
and setting.
The main scope of project is to replace the
existing 220kV-100MVA transformer by a 220kV-250MVA one; improve, supplement,
replace, install the relevant suitable equipment for the new transformer.
The energized T1 220kV-250MVA transformer has
made an increase of capacity of the 220kV Tra Noc substation from 225 MVA (100
+125) to 375 MVA (125 + 250), which meets the increasing load demands and
socio-economic development of Can Tho province in the coming years.
As assigned plan, the project will be energized
and put into operation in Quarter 4/2017. However, in order to strengthen
transmission capacity for the 220 kV Tra Noc substation, PTC4 has carried out
replacement of the 220kV-100MVA transformer by a new 220kV-250MVA one and
project was completed ahead the assigned schedule./.
