On
December 23rd 2017, Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) joined Power
Transmission Company 3 (PTC3), National Power Transmission Services Company
(NPTS), Central Region Load Dispatch Center (CRLDC) and other related organized
an energization before official operation of the 220/110/22kV-250MVA
transformer and other equipment at the 220kV Nha Trang Substation, marking the
completion of the 220 kV Nha Trang Capacity Upgrade project to increase the
substation’s capacity from 375 MVA to 500 MVA.

The
completion of the 220 kV Nha Trang Substation Capacity Upgrade project would
ensure safe and reliable power supply for peak loads at Khanh Hoa and its
surrounding areas; facilitate stable and secured operation of the power grid;
decrease capacity loss; decrease power loss rate in the power transmission
system and improve productivity and power production at Vietnam Electricity
(EVN) and National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).
The
220 kV Nha Trang Substation Capacity Upgrade project is part of the 220kV Quy
Nhon, Nha Trang, Krong Buk, Bao Loc Substations and 500 kV Pleiku Substation
Capacity Upgrade projects, which received a total investment of 262 billion
VND. This project was launched on December 15th 2017 under the investment of
EVNNPT and management of CPMB.
The
project involves: replacement of the current AT1
220/110/22kV-125MVA transformers with 220/110/22kV-250MVA transformers;
addition of 110 kV lightning arrestor busbars; replacement of the current 110
kV disconnectors in the 110kV AT1 transformer feeder to ensure the
load-carrying capacity of the newly replaced 250 MVA transformer; completion of
the measuring system, protection and control system, SCADA and other systems
related to the new equipment at the substations./.
